West Harrison Fashion Designer on Starting Her Own Clothing Company

Westchester woman Christina DeFrancisco loves fashion and was always up on the latest trends. However, she eventually found that?the things on store racks didn’t cut it. ?She had designs of her own that she wanted to create.

The West Harrison resident started Madison Clothing two years ago, “hit the ground running” and hasn’t looked back.

“Once all my thoughts and ideas were put together for an online store,?I?created few designs for graphic shirts and went from there expanding to selling to other independent designers as well,” said DeFrancisco, 28.

“I was a communication arts major in college, which has helped with starting a business. From college to Madison I have had many jobs in many different fields all leading toward my inspiration for Madison.”

Madison Clothing is currently an online store only, with hopes to one day have a storefront home in Westchester. They do host?pop-up store events occasionally. Their?mantra? To be: MAD?about FASHION.

“Being MAD about fashion is loving the art of fashion and style,” DeFrancisco told Westchester Woman.

“Not being afraid to push limits and be yourself and comfortable in what you wear. I don’t believe that you can wear something hideous or ugly, if you are representing yourself and owning it. Then more power to you!”
