Ben Silver to Headline Fundraising DJ Set For Musical Education Scholarships

National touring DJ and producer Ben Silver, also known for his work with DJ collective Orchard Lounge, will be playing a headline solo set at Putnam Place (63 Putnam Street in Saratoga Springs, NY) on Mar. 8 along with SM INK and Cauzee. The event, presented by BRZY Studios and Putnam Place, promises to immerse attendees in the deepest realms of house, techno, and downtempo sounds.

Doors open at 9:30 PM with the show starting at 10 PM. The 21+ event showcases Ben Silver’s distinguished style, with sets that blend ethereal cosmic synths and refined rhythms, a craft perfected through years of national touring and club residencies.

Supporting acts include SM INK, a rising talent from New York’s capital, and Cauzee, Albany’s own late-night sound manipulator. Together, they will deliver back-to-back sets that blend minimal, deep tech, and Rominal house, guaranteed to keep the dancefloor energized.

In conjunction with the event, organizers are collaborating with the Ian McGuire Music Scholarship Fund (IMMSF) to host a raffle. Participants have the chance to win a VIP package, which includes two passes for the event, two more for any future show at Putnam Place plus a special “Spring Garden” vinyl record from IMMSF. The Ian McGuire Music Scholarship Fund is dedicated to advancing music education for aspiring musicians. Established in memory of Ian McGuire, it aims to nurture the next generation of talent, reflecting Ian’s passion and dedication to music.

The Ian McGuire Music Scholarship Fund (IMMSF) was founded in 2022. Initiated and established by Dennis McGuire, Derek Haviland, and Justin Berger with funds donated in musician Ian McGuire’s memory to continue his life’s work and legacy.

Ian McGuire, a friend of Ben Silver, was a Philadelphia musician and piano teacher with over ten years of teaching experience. He graduated the distinguished Berklee College of Music in 2005. Berklee College of Music is a private music college in Boston, Massachusetts. It is the largest independent college of contemporary music in the world. Ian established and was part of a number of bands through the years including MJ Project, Sonic Spank, The Blurry Nights, CIA, Let’s Danza! and McGuire Zwang Duo.
