Moms Connect Westchester Families With Gamechanger Tutors
Imagine what your child could achieve if confidence and comprehension in any subject or skill set was just a phone call away. Well, it is here in Westchester because of two local moms.
Marilyn Rifkin and Deborah Notis first me met about 12 years ago, but their entrepreneurial calling didnt grow?legs until about seven years ago when the pair wound up putting a baseball class together for their kids and?fellow classmates. This endeavor opened the floodgates, as local parents began consistently asking Rifkin and Notis where they could get specialized lessons for their children.
That kept happening and we finally decided this would be a great business, said Notis, who lives in Pleasantville with her husband and four boys aged 9, 11, 14 and 16.
Thus in 2012, gamechanger was born a concierge service that connects families with specialized instructors that adapt to each childs learning style and needs.
A lot of people dont know where to turn for these valuable resources, says Rikfin, who lives in Mount Kisco with her husband, 19-year-old daughter and 15-year-old son. Over the years weve accumulated good coaches and tutors, and found that we had this network.
Rifkin, who retired from her career as a sales executive, says she and Notis matchmaking service refers tutors, that are passionate about?teaching, with families looking for a quick and stress-free approach to finding quality instructors at competitive prices.
Our motto is empowering the well-rounded child. We have academic tutors; music and sports coaches; dance, art and foreign language teachers for students in?preschool through college, says Rifkin. We can help a lot of different families, with a lot of different needs.
Gamechanger currently has about 50 tutors, a pool that Notis says is purposely kept on the smaller side.
We know who were sending out there, said Notis, who is retired from a career in marketing and currently also works as a freelance writer.
The Westchester women either have personal experience using the tutors or have conducted extensive interviews with them. Gamechanger is also constantly soliciting feedback from their clients on tutor performance.
It makes us so happy when we get countless testimonials from people that we helped their child, says Rifkin. We love hearing the success when parents write to us and say ‘My child is connecting and has self-confidence for the first time in a subject’ and we love doing what we do.
Within 24 to 48 hours gamechanger can have a specialized tutor for your child that can help them to excel inside and outside of the classroom. Gamechanger does not charge their clients a fee for their service, and customers have no obligation to use their recommendation.
We are here to serve as a resource to busy Westchester families to make sure that their children have access to everything they need to feel successful, said Rifkin.?Whether its academic or sports or anything, they can understand what your child really needs.”
The women of gamechanger say the key to their success was creating a business around a solution people were already looking for. Doing something they love and working with great people didnt hurt either.
We love our business and making it grow, said Notis. We have fun together and work well off each other. Each of us has our own great ideas to bring to the table, and thats what makes us want to go to work in the morning.
