LOFT’s Holiday Party; Treasury Delays Announcement of What Woman Will Be On U.S. Currency
Here’s what’s happening today in the 914:
1.) The LOFT LGBT Community Center is throwing a holiday house party/fundraiser. Enjoy food, festive games and lots of fun in the White Plains home of LOFT members Jeff and James. Jeff and James will make?a tax deductible holiday donation to the LOFT and encourage party guests to do the same.
A?meet and greet with?drinks starts at 6 p.m.; open buffet at 7 p.m.; and Dirty Santa, which gives you the option to steal another’s gifts, starts at 8 p.m. RSVP with the number of guests who are attending by Dec. 16 to?jgurkinyoung@gmail.com.
2.) Women on 20s started the movement to get a woman on the $20 bill and it looks like they are going to have to wait a little bit longer to see what woman the U.S. Treasury Department chose. Though the department?declared that a woman would be chosen to share the the spotlight with Alexander Hamilton on the $10, they are delaying the chose of which woman who will appear on the bill until 2016.
