DIY Sparkly Jeweled Snowflake Window Cling Decorations
Sprucing up your house for the holidays doesn’t have to be expensive. Instead of hitting up the Christmas Tree Shop in White Plains, this year I’m opting to craft?some of my own festive?decorations.
I present to you… the sparkly snowflake window cling, a simple and inexpensive DIY.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Puff Paint?- I prefer Tulip brand and used their glitter paint in silver and clear. If you’re not a sparkle person, you can ditch the glitter and use their solid colors.
- Parchment Paper
- Print Out Images -??You’ll need to print out snowflake templates and can easily search for images on the Internet. Here are some we found. If you’re not feeling snowflakes, try a different design template, like a Christmas tree or Hanukkah menorah.
- Toothpick
- Tape
Here’s how to make them:
First you want to tape the print outs of your templates to a clean flat work surface. Next, cut the parchment paper to overlay on top of your templates and tape into place.
Then with a steady hand you want to start tracing your images with the puff paint onto the parchment paper. Make sure that the paint is evenly distributed on the lines of the shapes. I used a toothpick to help spread the paint so there would be no separations.
Once your shapes are covered in paint, you can add embellishments, like rhinestones or beads. Once you have completed your designs, you need to let the paint dry overnight.
Once the paint is dry, the snowflakes should peel right off the parchment paper. Thats it!?Make sure to wipe down and clean your window before applying, and use the heat of your hands to help stick the clings onto your window or other surface.
This turned out so cute!
