1.) This year?Operation Prom will be able to make even more American girls’ dreams comes true thanks to Macy’s donation of 5,510 new dresses.
Operation Prom, which was founded by Westchester woman Noel D’Allacco and is based in New Rochelle, provides donated dresses, tuxedos, accessories and financial aid to high school kids across the country so they can attend?prom.
“I want to thank Macy’s for this incredibly generous donation, as well as County Executive Rob Astorino for continuing to partner with Operation Prom and believing in our mission,” said D’Allacco, according to the County’s press release. “I can’t wait to see the happiness all these dresses will bring to those who otherwise couldn’t afford the dream dress.”
Macy’s donation came from their “Buy 1, We’ll Donate 1″ program, where the department store donates a dress for every prom dress purchased on March 26.?The 13th annual Operation Prom Dress Giveaway will be held at the Westchester County Center on:
- Friday, April 29, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. (High school seniors only)
- Saturday, April 30, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (All high school students)
Students must register to receive a dress and attend the giveaway at?operationprom.org. Openings fill up fast, so make sure you register today. You’ll also find?drop-off locations for prom attire and accessories and other ways you can donate.
