1.)?A woman is beaten or assaulted every 9 seconds in our country. Domestic violence also affects the children who are forced to witness it.
In October during National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we call attentions to the 20 people per minute in the U.S. who are physically abused by an intimate partner, which is more than 10 million women and men a year.
Westchester County is hosting a series of?Domestic Violence Awareness programs this month and also have a full list of resources for those who are being abused and need help. Everything on domestic abuse resources and program can be found here:?OFW_fall_booklet2015

2.) Lucy’s Lounge in Pleasantville will host a recording setting comedy showcase called Comedy Chaos ?tonight starting at 7:30 p.m. The event will feature a record number of comics, about 30, within an 90 minute show. Tickets are $10 at the door.

3.) Happy International Day of Rural Women, According the United Nations, the day was first celebrated on Oct. 15 in 2007 after the General Assembly passed a resolution to recognize?the critical role and contribution of rural women, including indigenous women, in enhancing agricultural and rural development, improving food security and eradicating rural poverty.
